A holiday cookie in the shape of a horseshoe.

Ingredient

Eggs

Vegetable Oil

Sugar

Salt

Anise Flavoring

Flour

Jam

Raisins

Walnuts

Breadcrumbs

Powdered Sugar

Quantity
6	-
1/2	cup (may substitute melted Crisco)
1/2	cup
	pinch
1	tsp.
	enough to make a medium dough
	(may substitute applesauce)
	-
	chopped
	(if needed)
	as desired

Instructions

Mix dough ingredients. Roll out into a thin rectangle. Place 1 tablespoon onto dough approx. 1" apart. Fold dough over and cut with a cookie cutter in the shape of a horseshoe. Close edges tight by pressing with a fork along the fold. Filling: Mix jam, applesauce, raisins, nuts, chocolate chips. (If filling is too soft, add breadcrumbs to thicken.) Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
